Galvanised Steel Jet Cowl – Swiss / Swedish Cowl

Our Galvanised Steel Jet Cowls, commonly known as Swiss Cowls or Swedish Cowls, are designed to provide an effective termination point for industrial extraction and ventilation systems, allowing contaminated or extracted air to discharge safely above roof level.

A key function of the jet cowl is to prevent rainwater from entering the extraction ductwork. Its design helps protect the ducting and the building from water ingress while still allowing extracted air to discharge freely from the system.

The jet cowl also helps to increase the exit velocity of the discharged air, directing it upwards and helping the extracted air to move beyond the boundary layer of the roof. This promotes better dispersion of contaminated or unwanted air and reduces the potential for discharged air to remain around the building or be drawn back towards air intakes and occupied areas.

This makes jet cowls an important component of systems where the controlled discharge of extracted air is required, including spray booths, paint mixing rooms, industrial workshops and other mechanical extraction applications.

Supplied with an integral drain, the cowl provides a practical solution for managing any rainwater or condensation while maintaining an unrestricted path for extracted air. It provides a clean and professional finish to roof-level ductwork and can be incorporated into both new installations and existing extraction systems.
