Commercial Spray Booths
The APEX Commercial Spray Booth is a large-scale professional spray booth designed for the demanding requirements of commercial and industrial coating applications. Engineered for vehicles, plant, machinery and oversized components, the commercial range provides a flexible working environment that can be configured around the size of your equipment, available space and production requirements.
Rather than being limited to a single standard configuration, APEX Commercial Spray Booths can be specified using a range of options, allowing you to create a spray booth suited to your individual application.
Configure Your Commercial Spray Booth
1. Booth Width
Choose the internal booth width to provide sufficient working clearance around the largest vehicle, machine or component being sprayed.
Commercial booth widths are available from 5m to 8m, in 500mm increments. Bespoke widths can also be considered where your requirements fall outside the standard range.
When selecting the width, consideration should be given to the size of your largest load, access around the item and whether multiple items may need to be accommodated within the booth.
2. Booth Depth
The internal depth can be selected to suit the length of the vehicles, plant or components being sprayed.
Standard commercial booth depths range from 10m up to 20m, in 1m increments. Bespoke depths can be considered for applications requiring a different working envelope.
The depth can also be planned around your access requirements, available floor space and future production needs.
3. Booth Height
Commercial spray booths are available with internal heights from 3m up to 6m, in 500mm increments.
The correct height provides adequate clearance for tall vehicles, machinery and components, while also allowing space for overhead extraction, lighting and access equipment.
4. Extraction Position
The extraction arrangement can be selected according to how you intend to use the booth.
Two main extraction configurations are available:
- Full Length – Both Sides: suitable for a through-booth arrangement with access at both ends.
- Full Width – Rear of Booth: suitable where access is required from one end of the booth.
This allows the extraction system to be designed around the intended airflow direction and access arrangement.
5. Heating
Where temperature-controlled spraying and accelerated curing are required, the booth can be equipped with a recirculated heating system.
The standard heated configuration provides a 20°C spray-at-temperature function and a 60°C bake cycle, allowing the booth to be used for both controlled spraying and curing.
Heating can also be omitted where the application does not require temperature-controlled spraying or baking.
6. Product Finish
A range of panel finishes is available to suit different applications and budgets.
Options include:
- White Exterior / White Interior – Insulated
- White Exterior / Galvanised Interior – Insulated
- Galvanised Exterior / Galvanised Interior – Insulated
- Galvanised Steel – Non-Insulated
Insulated panels can help the booth retain temperature more efficiently and can reduce perceived noise, while white internal finishes provide a bright working environment for spraying and inspection. Galvanised steel provides an economical non-insulated option where thermal insulation is not required.
7. Sealed Lighting
The booth can be fitted with 1500mm sealed lighting units to provide clear and consistent illumination throughout the working area.
Lighting can be positioned along the booth length to provide even visibility across vehicles, machinery and components. Lighting can also be omitted where suitable alternative lighting is already available.
8. Personnel Doors
Standard 1000mm x 2000mm personnel doors can be added to provide convenient operator access without opening the main vehicle or loading doors.
Multiple personnel doors can be incorporated where required to suit the layout and access requirements.
9. Bi-Folding Doors
For large vehicles, machinery and components, bi-folding doors provide a wide, full-height opening for loading and unloading.
The commercial range can be configured with:
- 1 bi-folding door – entry only
- 2 bi-folding doors – entry and exit
- No bi-folding doors
Bi-folding doors can be manufactured up to 5m wide x 5m high per door, providing substantial access for oversized loads. Two doors can be particularly useful where a through-booth arrangement is required, allowing vehicles or equipment to enter at one end and exit at the other.
10. Roller Shutter Doors
Roller shutter doors can be added for convenient everyday loading and delivery access.
Choose between:
- 1 roller shutter door – entry only
- 2 roller shutter doors – entry and exit
- No roller shutter doors
The shutter width, height and finish can be selected to suit the application. The finish can also be matched to the selected booth panels for a consistent appearance.
Roller shutters can be used alongside bi-folding doors, providing a convenient option for regular access without having to open the larger main doors.
11. Split Booth Depth
For businesses requiring greater production flexibility, the booth can be configured with a midpoint roller shutter, allowing the overall booth to operate as either one large booth or two independent sections.
When split, each section has its own heating system and controls, allowing two shorter jobs to be processed at the same time or one section to remain in a bake cycle while the other is being used for another job.
The booth can still be operated as one continuous booth when required, providing additional flexibility as production requirements change.
