The Dräger X-plore 8500 Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) is a professional respiratory protection system designed for demanding workplace environments where protection from hazardous gases, vapours and particulates is required.

Supplied as a complete A2P3 package, this system provides a convenient ready-to-use respiratory protection solution for applications including spray painting, industrial coating, surface preparation and other processes where airborne contaminants may be present. The supplied A2P3 filter combines gas/vapour and particulate filtration, while alternative filter configurations are available for other applications.

The system uses a powered blower to deliver filtered air to the supplied premium L/XL hood, helping reduce the breathing resistance associated with conventional filtering respirators. The X-plore 8500 incorporates intelligent electronics that automatically adjust airflow to the connected headpiece, with three manual airflow settings also available.

An integrated alarm system monitors key operating parameters, including filter saturation and battery status, helping the wearer identify when attention is required. The lithium-ion battery system is available in standard and high-capacity configurations; the standard battery is rated for at least 4 hours and the high-capacity version for at least 8 hours under the specified A2P3 operating conditions.
